Mr Chan Szechuan Restaurant in Pikesville

We went to this restaurant for an event. It is clear that they have no clue how to handle a large party, especially one who had already prepaid and had the dishes selected. The service and the food was terrible. We arrived at 3 and there was no one in the main dining room. We left around 7 and only 3 tables were full in the dining room. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I ordered shrimp tempura and shrimp with cheese sushi, very good, i also ordered pork fried rice, it was too greasy and the flavor was an odd. I never knew fried rice to have red onions, disgusting! If i decides to return it will only be for the sushi

The seitan is disgusting. waste of money

The "Hella Hot", the "Yellowtail Fantasy", and the "Spicy Tuna Twist" are some of the best house rolls I've ever had, from Florida to NY. These are 3 MUST HAVES! I recommend this place to anyone with a real flavor for sushi. Great service, not over priced,and the food is GREAT! GREAT JOB MR.CHAN!!!

The food was very well done and delicious. The service was very pleasant and attentive.

Food and portions are good. Ordered via Uber eats then went to restaurant to dine in. Was not impressed with wait staff but will return. A variety of vegetarian dishes to choose from.

Great customer service. Unfortunately, the chicken with spinach was flavorless. This is my second subpar meal from Mr. Chan Restaurant.

Amazing vegaterian options.

Vegan, vegetarian offerings in addition to the traditional American Chinese restaurant meals. Sushi is also available. Wonderful happy hour options as well. Parking available for free behind the restaurant. (Pictures taken right at opening but imagine you in here eating the food!)

The BEST vegan food anywhere!!!! My all time favorite.

Got a carryout today, large ginger soup, very little fresh ginger and scallions. I had requested more scallion. if I order again will ask for more ginger.I paid for more liquid than anything else. Was very disappointed and forgot that this is always an issue when I order out. Much better when eating in.

A little out of date but the atmosphere is still nice. I was there Friday night, the waitress was nice & polite. Food was good just wished the broccoli was cooked a little longer.

The staff is friendly. The chicken won ton soup is good. Not too salty. The sushi was pretty good. In the past I have eaten some of their vegan options. They have lots of them. The stir fried kale was delicious. The alcoholic drinks are another story . .. .I didn't expect them to be goodl. I had only a Moscow mule and it was not as bad as i thought it would be.

Excellent food. Staff is very attentive and quick to bring out food. Vegetarian food is very good with plenty of options. Sushi was freshly made, and delicious.

Good place, vegan and vegetarian options. Not my first choice if they get busy as service and food lacks.

Shrimp wasn't exactly fresh. Who on the planet earth, doesn't know what Budweiser is? Answer: this place. No knowledge of it, nor is it carried.

The avocado/shrimp salad is exquisite, with a refreshing and delicate seasoning. The beef sticks are amazing, I have never eaten such tender meat in any Chinese restaurant, the soups are delicious. I even had a lamb shank there that was divine. Most Baltimoreans order the same thing in every Chinese restaurant they go to. This one deserves to be treated like a gourmet experience. Everything is fresh and high quality. The place is unpretentious, but it has a friendly and warm atmosphere. This place has been an institution in Baltimore for many years within the Jewish community. I am French and I know good food. Trust me on this!

Food is always good and hot

I took my wife, my son and his lady friend here. All of us enjoyed our meals very much. The service was friendly and efficient. The decor was nice, and the restaurant was relatively quiet. There's free parking in back. I will return to this restaurant in the future.Back to Mr. Chan this evening. 2/27%20 Still excellent.

We decided to try Mr. Chan because we have been wanting authentic Asian cuisine for a while. Our taste buds were delighted! They offer vegan options and explain what each type of vegan meat substitute they offer is.The customer service was excellent and the ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. We went after the lunch rush and it was very quiet. But it was perfect to experience the service firsthand, and they were so friendly. The food is delicious.We HIGHLY recommend trying Mr. Chan. Their customer service and food is definitely worth it!! Let your taste buds experience the delish cuisine they have to offer.

Very nice atmosphere. Food is reasonably priced snd you get plenty of it. Waitress was sweet and attantive.

A lot of food and service for the money lunch is a deal , three-course lunch served to you for $7.95 a vegetable roll ,soup and a main course meal. Great tasting too.

Eggplant tofu spinach is their only vegan option - and luckily it was quite tasty. Dumplings were nice appetizer. Drink was not great, but overall a nice dining experience.

This is an unassuming neighborhood restaurant that is now doing take out only. But when I dined here it was quite enjoyable. Added amenities over the years include a sushi bar and TV. Plenty of close by parking. Pricing on par with comparable restaurants.

The mock meat is excellent. And I'm a meat eater. Got it with the citrus sauce and it made me wish I had another stomach. And, believe me, I'm not one who appreciates much in the way of cuisine when out in Pikesville.

Management and servers are very polite. Food is always fresh and portions are plentiful.

Got the rainbow roll and hella hot roll, both were awesome. Service was great, friendly and helpful staff. Went on Sunday so our domestic beers were $2 and imports were $3 per their specials. Only giving 4 stars because we were not informed of their lunch specials which were much better deals and would have been what we had ordered instead, but otherwise good experience

Lots of vegetarian options! Food is cool.

Their food is so delicious! If you're a vegetarian, their selection is above and beyond any other Chinese restaurant I've ender been to. I always get the spicy orange Yuba or the spicy orange seitan and they're SO delicious! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. And for those who aren't vegetarians, the selection is huge! And of course, beyond delicious and tasty. I usually get take out but the restaurant is pretty well - sized with lots of tables of your looking to done in. The staff is always very polite. I moved to Baltimore 20 years ago and Mr. Chan's was there then (I don't know how many years it was open before that but I wouldn't be surprised if it was many years earlier). And the fact that it's still open today says a lot about their food and their regular customers. I can think of very few restaurants that have been open as many years. So give it a try. You will be very happy you did.

I loved it some much! My mother and I came to order carryout. They were so nice and the sushi looked beautiful. I am only giving this a four star rating because I didn't dine in yet. However, I will be coming back soon. The photo doesn't give it the justice it deserves.

Way over priced, even charge extra for brown rice and if you use a credit card. Won't go here again.

Had a dinner party of 16 for my husband there today, food was good, hot and tasty.... would surely return

This is the best Asian food around! We go out of our way to make a trip to Mr Chan and are always happy with the excellent food. Girlfriend is vegan and loves the yuba, while I always get a delicious shrimp dish.We'll be there today!

Great little sit down restaurant spot. Welcoming staff and the food is delicious. Also has vegan dishes. Location is iffy being along a major road with parking at a minimum. Highly recommend for a nice comfy date night.
